Callean Stormfall

Captain of the Shadowleaf WatchersShadow Warden of Hyjal

Character Description

Appearance

It is clear from just looking at Callean that she is a very proud woman, almost to the point of arrogance. She holds herself at her full height, her shoulders back and her head held high.Even through her armour one can see that her body holds clearly defined muscle, the result of her extensive training and role as a Warden. If seen without her mask, the word 'beautiful' is not one that can be used to describe her. She has a strong, sharp and angular bone structure that tends to make her gaze quite sharp and severe. When this is added with her height she can appear to look down her nose at others.
A scar that mimics a claw mark stretches from her right eyebrow down to below her cheekbone. Another that is visible with her mask in place runs the right side of her face, cutting through her lip and disappears beneath her armour.
Her dark hair hangs loose and wild around her shoulders, various trinkets and jewellery attached to the dreads. Most notable ia a small braid that hangs just behind her right ear where a greyish-blue owl feather is attached by a small iron clasp. Above this clasp is a newer addition, it's silver gleaming bright against the worn iron below. A warden owl identical to her companion, Kal'dris, sits perched on the inside of an Umbral Glaive gripped by his talons which frames around his figure. Fine, delicate craftsmanship. If one was to see Callean unarmoured they would notice that her back and upper arms are covered in intricate runic tattoos. Each holding the symbol of her rise in rank within the Shadowleaf Watchers.

Armour

The issued Warden armour she wears is made mostly of leather with moonsteel plates inserted to protect her vital areas. The armour would appear to be made for agility over outright protection, better suited to this Warden's particular fighting style of speed over brute strength. On closer inspection one would be able to see knives strapped to her thighs and belt, although they are likely also hidden elsewhere.
Small plates have been stitched into her gauntlets, the fingers and knuckles, the tips finished in what appear to be claws, a weapon in themselves if the Warden was to ever find herself without her blades.
It is unusual to find the Captain without her Moonsteel mask upon her face. The mask itself holding features that mimic those of an owl only enhance the aloof and servere nature of this Warden. The dark cloak of the Watcher's hangs from her shoulders shrouding her body from view. Razor sharp blades resembling owl feathers run along the hem, a dangerous weapon if the Warden were to ever utilise it in such a way. The Moonsteel mask set upon her face is fashioned to resemble that of an owl, it does a perfect job of concealing both her features and expressions save for the feint smirk that seems to always grace her lips.

There'bantal (Primal Death)

The infamous blades of her Predecessor's are an oddity amoung Kaldorei weapons. The glaives themselves look as if they would have been considered ancient even in the time before the sundering. They are sleek and perfectly balanced, as one would expect Kaldorei weapons to be, with archaic (some would even consider them crude) runes inscribed along the length. If one were to look closer or have any affiity for sensing magic, they would notice or feel something unsettling about them. The shadows seem to be drawn to the weapons, clinging to the edges and slithering over the blades independent of their surroundings as if they hold a life of their own. Those who are particulary sensitive would get the feeling that something is not quite right, as if an almost malevolent energy is being emitted by them.Archaic RunesWhat these runes mean has long been lost to time and are practically untranslatable. However, the one thing that is obvious, is that they have been placed upon the glaives with intent and consideration by whoever created them. When at ease the runes themself are docile and blend almost into the metal unseen. Once engaged in battle, however, they burn a bright dark red.

Military Service

The current records available for Captain Stormfall are scarce at best and reside deep within the archives of both the Temple of Elune and the Shadow Wardens. It is obvious to any who may go seeking them out that large parts of her service to The Watchers has been removed and sealed as classified information, leaving only the bare minimum behind for curious eyes.

Year -1000 (approx)

The first entry that records her name is short, simply detailing that of a previously orphaned adolescent being sent to the local sentinel barracks and enlisted in service.

Year -975

The next entry that follows is some years later and notes her as part of the Sentinel forces, specifically as a saber master, during the War of the Shifting Sands.Nothing much else seems to be documented other than her partaking in the skirmishes and returning home at the end.

Year -974 to -900 (approx)

In this period there does not seem to be much activity noted, mostly the entries detail patrols she took part in and a few border skirmishes.

Year -900 (approx)

A simple entry this time details Stormfall being relieved of her service to the Sentinels and handed over to The Watchers to begin her training. There is not much information to be gathered other than her being stationed within the barrows at Hyjal. From here she disappears for a long period of time.

Year 25

The next entry shows up much later, detailing her now as a Warden enlisted under the Temple to lead the guard for a small contingent of Priestesses. Rumours surrounding this time say it was forced upon her as punishment for disobeying Temple orders and to keep her under watchful eyes, but there is nothing concrete to confirm this. The last entry from this period details her leave of service and being called away to fulfil her Watcher duties. The next entry following the noted recall to Hyjal simply records her as having joined the ranks of the Shadowleaf Watchers as a Warden.

Year 28

It is noted that Warden Stormfall was present during the incident of the Highbourne purge of Darnassus. It details that upon capture she served a short term of imprisonment, before she swore loyalty to both the Temple and to Kalimdor and condemned those who escaped their punishment.Alongside this entry is another that details her assuming the position of Captain of the Shadowleaf Watchers and reinstating them into active duty shortly after. It is also explicitly stated that both her release and reinstated rank was on condition of hunting and capturing the traitor Watchers who escaped Temple justice.

Year 28 - 30

As Captain there are some records of the skirmishes and hunts that were led by her for the Temple, prisoners that they requested were captured and battles that the Shadowleaf Watchers were ordered to lend their aid too.The information surrounding these are minimal and were not entered by the Captain herself. It is obvious that she took just as much caution as her predecessors and kept the movements of the Shadowleaf Watchers to mere rumours alone.

Year 30

The Temple entry that stated her to have retired as Captain has been altered by another hand.A thick black line has been scratched over the word "retired" and replaced above with "Missing In Action: presumed dead"It then details her replacement as Captain being the former Lieutenant Duskvale.

Year 32

An entry just before the burning of Teldrassil simply details her being returned to service as a Warden after a stay within the Temple's infirmary to recover from injuries. It is stated that she survived the attack upon Darnassus and was part of the forces fighting back the Horde in Darkshore, however, any details appear to have been purposefully left vague.

Year 34

A new entry has surfaced, noting her down as resuming command of the Shadowleaf Watchers alongside the Watcher Duskvale, albeit now a smaller and more specialised force than before.
